The description under each forum is very faint and difficult to read. I am disappointed that prior posts, particularly TRs, are not being transferred over to the new board.

Inserted the image of Paul Revere as a test, but wow is it big. Any way to decrease the size?

When inserting a link to an article (see below), it appears you need all 3 - a) selected text, b) URL and 3) title. Is that correct?

When you insert an image there is a link that says 'Advanced Options' this allows you to fix size, spacing, borders, and much more.

Anthony said that the old forums will still exist in an archive, so you'll still be able to access the current, soon to be old, forums, and the search tool should still work as well as it does now.

Is the staff aware that right now ANYONE CAN COMMENT HERE WITHOUT REGISTERING?

My sig isn't saving either.

Is the only way to quote someone to hit the quote button, manually copy and paste the words, and hit down arrow button? That is the only way it works for me.

OK some how I didn't register and didn't see an option. Earlier post showed up as "guest" and logging in at 10:30 my time much , much slower than earlier.

JWBlue, apparently that's what you have to do to insert a quote. Phooey. Too much trouble. If I want to copy and paste something someone said, I'll just insert my own quotation marks. This is WAY more technology than I can handle. What are all those symbols above the area where I'm typing my reply??? It's a message board -- we don't need all that fancy-shmancy stuff! And I hate the tiny avatars. I think this site needs a lot of work. I'm glad I'm not the only one whose signature lines won't save.

The sig works now. It will appear in future posts.

They sympbols are for formatting of texts. It is not important. It can be ignored.

I'm really not a fan of this new message board setup. Sure, the speed is nice, but having comments nested instead of in post order isn't my cup of tea, and the overall look of it isn't spectacular. I wish they could have just fixed whatever was wrong with the old forum, or gone to a new forum that had a similar look and feel to the old one -- this is way different. It's good to see that they're (finally) addressing the speed issue, but I'm not sold on this as the solution.

I like the controls. I like being able to manipulate the fonts. If fonts weren't important, the whole world would look like Craigslist. Also -- I like being able to wrap the text around pictures. I think this will be ideal for trip reports. This actually offers more formatting than the blog site I use -- which is where I was planning on posting my next report. But this is better. I don't like my signature just floating down there. Not sure why it didn't show up on my first post. I guess we're still working out the bugs. I can't figure out how to control the leading -- and it will increase once I hit "publish". Hey, look. We can justify the text if we want. Right now I'm just trying to type enough copy to wrap around this photo. I suppose I could just make the type bigger. Or, I could just repeat myself. I think I'll do that. I like the controls.

I am not a fan of nesting of messages either. The whole post needs to be read every time in order to find all the responses. Quoting reduces the need for nesting.

The edit button appears on the bottom right of my posts. I have a choice of edit, delete, and comment in that spot.

I don't like the nesting, now that I know what it is. Too confusing to have posts out of order. I don't see why we need the "comment" button at all, actually.

I also don't like replying to someone named "Guest," lol.

OK, it's posting Pacific time on my screen. What time do others see? Do we have to specify what time zone we want? Why is there nothing to see when I click on Settings? It just says the LVA portal doesn't exist!

And we've lost all our great emoticons, apparently. There are only 12 available, and they're all "faces."

I have another question -- how are we supposed to know if a new post has been added to a thread since we last visited? Do we have to open the thread and scroll through it? Or will we have a menu like we have on the old forums that shows mailboxes or something, as well as the time of posting of the last post?

Yes, this board is fast, but I'm not sure it fits our needs.

In My Area under preferences there's a place to choose between Quick View and Fully Nested, but when I try to change the setting I'm getting a the comment "purpose exceeded the maximum limit .

Back to the report on the last poker game...

There were eight players...they were playing..Texas Hold Em. 1/2.

I was delt QS, 10C. The river showed AH, KD, JD. I called the $7 bet as did 6 others. The card next was a 7H. The bet was $12, I reaised $13 to make it $25. Two callers. The lastr card was a 9S. Bet out was $50, Called, then I raised to $50. I won and it was a good pot!

Click in this order:

My Area > Preferences > Choose file

I don't remember how it worked on the old board, but on this board you need to choose a picture already downloaded on your computer. If you find a picture on the internet you like you will have to save it to your hard drive If you receive an error message that it does not fit, it will need to be resized.

My avatar was here and now it's gone. It's on Zoho ....but I can't get here thru that site. It says LVA doesn't exist. LOL

It doesn't say anywhere whether I am even logged in.

The smilee faces suck here.

How can we tell who else is on here. Faster but not as many features.

If our LVA mods can't even help with our username (should we make a mistake) how will they be able to help with anything else.

What happens to those of us who have paid for a subscription to LVA but can't get this site to work for them.

Do you get the feeling that you're talking to yourself when you're here ?
