I haven't been able to load one either or get my countdown clock to work.  I give up!!

Yeah!  I finally got my avatar to load.  Now, how do I get my countdown ticker to do the same?

I loaded a new avatar and had absolutely no problem whatsoever.

I was also having trouble.  What I finally discovered was that there was something missing.  I was using IE and the "browse" option wasn't there - although I see it is now. I logged in using Chrome, and was given the option to "choose file" which allowed me to upload an avatar.
